Document Manager
The IA Engagements Document Manager
The Document Manager is the central workspace within the IA Engagements App and is the default screen displayed when the Documents tab is selected from the top navigation bar. It provides users with an overview of the engagement structure, workflow progress, and completion status of documents and phases throughout the engagement. The Document Manager also acts as the primary navigation area for the engagement file, allowing users to quickly access any phase, section, or working paper directly from the main screen.
1. Main Engagement Structure
The Document Manager groups the engagement into the main phases of the audit process, including:
- Pre-engagement
- Planning
- Conducting
- Concluding
Each phase contains the related engagement documents and working papers associated with that stage of the engagement. Users can select any document directly from the Document Manager to open and work on that section of the file.
The Document Manager allows users to quickly navigate throughout the engagement file without needing to return to the main menu. Selecting a document or section from the Document Manager immediately opens the selected working paper or area of the engagement. This improves navigation efficiency and assists users in managing large engagement files more effectively.
2. Workflow managementThe overall workflow status of the engagement can be updated by selecting the project name in the top-left corner of the screen. This opens the workflow settings dialog where the engagement phase can be changed.
The available workflow phases include:
- Created
- Planning
- Conducting
- Concluding
- Completed
Once the updated workflow phase is saved, the workflow colour and project icon are automatically updated to reflect the selected phase.
The progress indicators displayed on the left-hand side of the Document Manager screen provide a visual overview of the completion status of each engagement phase.
These progress indicators are driven by document sign-offs completed throughout the engagement file.
Completing work alone will not automatically update the progress indicators. Relevant working papers and documents must also be properly signed off before the visual progress indicators are updated.
This assists engagement supervisors and reviewers in monitoring the true completion status of the engagement.
