Draft Strategy

The STRATEGY | Draft strategy page is used to prepare and customise the Internal Audit strategy for the entity. The page opens with a document editor containing predefined content provided as a starting point for the strategy. This content is fully editable, allowing users to tailor the strategy to reflect the entity’s governance structure, internal audit responsibilities, and applicable professional standards.

The objective of STRATEGY | Draft strategy is to enable the Internal Audit Function to prepare and maintain a formal Internal Audit strategy that defines its purpose, authority, and responsibilities within the organisation, ensuring alignment with governance expectations and applicable professional standards.

STRATEGY | Draft strategy can be found on the sidebar within the STRATEGY module of the IA Governance app.

The Draft strategy page provides a document editor where users can prepare and maintain the Internal Audit strategy for the entity. The editor opens with predefined strategy content that can be reviewed, edited, and expanded to reflect the entity’s governance framework and internal audit practices. Users can modify the text directly within the editor, allowing the strategy to be tailored to the organisation while maintaining alignment with the Standards and governance principles,

Send for approval

Once customised, Standards requirements embedded, and aligned to organisational requirements, the user can request approval of the Draft strategy by selecting the Send for approval button to the top right-hand side of the drafted strategy.

Selecting the Send for approval checkbox will prompt the creation of a new approval task and open up a Create Task dialog which the user must complete.

Note: attach the draft strategy that requires approval.

Posting this Task will add it to the My Work | Tasks.

Using the Draft strategy page enables the Internal Audit Function to prepare, customise, and manage the Internal Audit strategy within the IA Governance app. The page supports the development of a strategy that reflects the entity’s governance framework and professional standards, while the built-in approval workflow allows the document to be formally submitted for review. When the strategy is sent for approval, the system automatically creates a task and notifies the designated reviewer, ensuring that the strategy progresses through the appropriate governance approval process and that the approved version of the strategy can be formally established.
